Let's face it, with everything going on, we aren't putting on as much make up we normally would, but one things for sure, we still have to take care of our skin.
Everyday doesn't have to be a 5 or even 7 step routine kind of day, sometimes a simple efficient skincare routine is all you need to start the day with a glow.

A CLEAN FOUNDATION

Even if we are currently limited to the outdoors, your first and most important step is to remove the dirt, oil and build up from the day. If you double cleanse, ensure you start with a mild cleanser that removes the dirt and build up and follow this up with a cleanser that caters more to your skin’s needs. If you suffer with dryness, a gentle and mild cleanser that is appropriate for sensitive skin would be ideal, similarly for those that have irritable skin concerns. For those that are combination and oily, working with an AHA cleanser will allow for a gentle exfoliation, prohibiting clogged pores.

Massage the cleanser into your skin for at least 20 seconds to ensure that the cleanser is really reaching the skin and removing the dirt and build up.

ERADICATE THE BUILD UP

A step that can be combined with your cleansing or if opting for a strong product, can be completed once or twice a week. Exfoliation is the answer to refine texture, unclog pores and slough away dead skin revealing a brighter and smoother complexion underneath. Always pay close attention to physical scrubs as they can in fact tear the epidermis and create new scars. We highly recommend a chemical exfoliant or a mild scrub with enzymatic preferences that won’t irritate and potentially tear the skin’s layer. Your exfoliant is dependent on how your skin can take the treatment, if you are unsure start by introducing this once a week into your routine and build it up as your skin strengthens under the treatment.

INTRODUCE HYDRATION

Otherwise known as toning or an essence, many often don’t incorporate toning as an essential step but lightly dropped into the palms before massaging into the skin will immediately invite hydration back into your complexion.

TREAT THE SKIN

This step of your routine is where you can truly treat and customise your routine with serums and active ingredients. Dependent on what you want to achieve with your skin there are leading ingredients that are powerhouses when it comes to skincare. Our full skin ingredients list can be seen here, but essentially you want to be rotating antioxidants as a way to stimulate collagen production, protect the skin from environmental aggressors, hydrate and reduce inflammation. For brightening, Vitamin C is ideal, hydration you have Hyaluronic Acid, hydration, brightening and protection, Niacinamide and for texture, Vitamin A.

MASK IN ALL OF YOUR GLORY

Not always an essential but a glorious treat for the skin is a sheet mask that you can then work into the skin with a facial massage tool. Sheet masks are a great way to deliver additional active ingredients to the skin with little to no effort. As the perfect relaxing tool, accompanied by Jade Rollers or Gua Sha’s, you can create a whole self-care ritual in no time at all.

SEAL

Once you have worked your serums and ingredients into your skin, it is important to seal everything in with a nourishing moisturiser. Not only a sealant but also a protector, your moisturiser creates a barrier that will prevent aggressors from attacking your skin.

PROTECT

Always and we mean always, apply your SPF. Not only for protection but for those that suffer with hyperpigmentation and discolouration, you want to protect the skin from developing further dark marks, even after exfoliation.
