A CLEAN FOUNDATION
Even if we are currently limited to the outdoors, your first and most important step is to remove the dirt, oil and build up from the day. If you double cleanse, ensure you start with a mild cleanser that removes the dirt and build up and follow this up with a cleanser that caters more to your skin’s needs. If you suffer with dryness, a gentle and mild cleanser that is appropriate for sensitive skin would be ideal, similarly for those that have irritable skin concerns. For those that are combination and oily, working with an AHA cleanser will allow for a gentle exfoliation, prohibiting clogged pores.
Massage the cleanser into your skin for at least 20 seconds to ensure that the cleanser is really reaching the skin and removing the dirt and build up.
ERADICATE THE BUILD UP
A step that can be combined with your cleansing or if opting for a strong product, can be completed once or twice a week. Exfoliation is the answer to refine texture, unclog pores and slough away dead skin revealing a brighter and smoother complexion underneath. Always pay close attention to physical scrubs as they can in fact tear the epidermis and create new scars. We highly recommend a chemical exfoliant or a mild scrub with enzymatic preferences that won’t irritate and potentially tear the skin’s layer. Your exfoliant is dependent on how your skin can take the treatment, if you are unsure start by introducing this once a week into your routine and build it up as your skin strengthens under the treatment.
